Planning a trip to the beach? The modern skorts are made with active/swimwear fabric and are designed to resist water, to keep the fabric from stretching when wet.
A pair of shorts is sewn into the skirt at the waist with 1 inch of covered elastic. These skorts also come with drawstring. 
Nylon/Spandex fabric is a favorite, making the skort durable and super comfortable with its smooth surface.
